Members of the NIG team published a groundbreaking paper on Lancet Neurology

Wilson H, Dervenoulas G, Pagano G, Yousaf T, Polychronis S, Giordano B, Chappell Z and Politis M of the NIG team showed that the presence of serotonergic pathology in premotor A53T SNCA carriers preceded development of dopaminergic pathology and motor symptoms and was associated with disease burden, highlighting the potential early role of serotonergic pathology in the progression of Parkinson’s disease.
